The State of the Union Address

Tonight I watched My. Biden present the State of the Union Address . . . except it wasn't. There was very little in the speech about the state of the U.S. Instead we were treated to a campaign rally.

The session started without Mr. Biden - except it couldn't. He arrived late and then spent quite a bit of time schmoozing with the audience. His speech started twenty-six minutes late. I think that shows a distinct lack of respect.

The speech began with a talk about how we need to continue to support Ukraine in its war with Russia. Except for the vast sums of money that the federal government is spending on and sending to Ukraine, the war does not affect the state of the union.

The speech was filled with misdirection, finger pointing, lies of ommission, and outright lies.

In his campaigning it was quite obvious that Mr. Biden has no respect for the US Constitution. He made several campaign promises and also "demands" that the federal government take over many aspects of life by increasing funding for many institutions (daycares, preschools, schools, police, etc.) that are not in the federal government's charter and are therefore forbidden by the 10th ammendment. As we have seen many times in the past, once these institutions get dependent on federal money, they are forced to obey federal mandates by the threat of the government withholding federal funds if they do not comply.

If you have been living in this country over the last three years and can manage to think for yourself, it should be quite obvious that Mr. Biden painted a totally false picture of the conditions in the U.S. when he did manage to talk about the state of the union. I guess he lives in Biden-land because he has no concept of reality. He told us that we are all better off than we were three years ago. I guess all the money I lost in investments because of his administration policies are of no consequence. The fact that my cost of living has increased by 80% while my income has risen only 10% is immaterial also. That doesn't matter to him; he has become a millionaire many times over during his years of "public service". (Side note: He talked about the rich paying their fair share - I'd love to see his tax returns!)

All in all I would say that this campaign speech was a total failure if its purpose was to make me feel good about the state of the union and where we are headed in the future if he remains in the office of the President.
